5 Ways Eportfolios Benefit Students and Professionals Alike

known as an eportfolio, e-portfolio, digital portfolio, or online portfolio) [1]
is a collection of electronic evidence assembled and managed by a user, usually
on the Web. Such electronic evidence may include input text, electronic files,
images, multimedia, blog entries, and hyperlinks. E-portfolios are both
demonstrations of the user's abilities and platforms for self-expression. If
they are online, users can maintain them dynamically over time.

can hold is virtually limitless.
2. Increase Opportunity – Eportfiolios, because they are web based can
be shared with more than just a particular employer. Their links can be posted
to social media, pasted on document resumes, placed on business cards, pasted
in email signatures and much more. The opportunity of getting yourself out
there and the possibility of who might see it has increased drastically.
3. Mobility –
with the use of apps, iPhones, tablets, and other microcomputers, eportfolios
are easier to read, download, edit and share than ever thought possible. This
comes as a huge advantage to millennials especially, because they prefer access
on the go.
4. Micro-certification Integration – In recent years, institutions and training
sites like Lynda.com have adopted badges, or micro-certification capabilities.
Most eportfolio sites now offer the ability to integrate these badges into your

5. Merging with Learning Management Systems (LMS) – Eportfolio or online portfolio tools are now
merging with LMS to accommodate the career preparedness needs of students.
